File Download Header

- For normal users, I'd imagine this is fine. We have some institutional users with 20+ years of email (hundreds of thousands of messages), and this new feature of Mac Mail is slowing their computers down significantly. My manager said that Mail.app previously just downloaded message headers, but now it's downloading full text and attachments.

Dear all: Unfortunately I cannot find a feature allowing me to only download - and keep - the imap folder names and the headers from IMAP accounts. Equally: I would like to keep --some and only -- downloaded IMAP messages. Shortly: as I can do in OE. I use IMAP and POP alternateley as I have no permanent internet connection and mostly use dial up. I use IMAP also to filter out unwanted mail before downloading it. It seems to me not very convenient that TB has each time to reload the imap folders when it connects to the internet. Thanks AC ..

Downloading only headers with Thunderbird
Well, it is a good idea, but the implementation is somewhat less than sparkling. It does, indeed, download only headers, but then when I double-click to read message (I have the 'preview' pane off), it asks if I want to download the message body. Well, duh? Did I double-click on for some sexual thrill? What do the programmers THINK I want to do with it? Sorry, but I guess I am in a surly mood today. IMAP only downloads Headers
Hello all. We are on GW 6.5.2 on a Netware 6 box (GWIA, POA and MTA are all on the same box) and are trying to use IMAP4 to download and send e- mail on a Treo and a Kyocera Smartphone. We can send with no problems but both devices are only able to download headers of e-mail. When trying to download the rest of the e-mail, the connection on the device either times out or we get a 'truncated' message. Can anyone please help? Thunderbird with Yahoo IMAP support
Hi, I have managed to compile a version of Thunderbird that allows direct IMAP access to Yahoo mail (imap.mail.yahoo.com). I discovered the method from examining traffic sent by YPOPs and looking at FreePOPs source code. Anyways username is your yahoo email address, password is yahoo webmail password. Incoming server is imap.mail.yahoo.com. It is also possible to send mail directly through SMTPs (SMTP over SSL) through smtp.mail.yahoo.com. Thunderbird - IMAP - automatic download My ISP recently had a set of problems after which I realised that I didn't ( seem ) to have local copies of some email messages, particularly my 'Sent' items. I am running Mozilla Thunderbird 2.0.0.6, under MS Windows XP. Downloading news headers in Thunderbird
Hello I recently started using Thunderbird for U3 v2.0.0.14. I'm having a bit of trouble downloading newsgroup headers. When I click on a newsgroup I just subscribed to, there are naturally a lot of headers available. For example, let's say on newsgroup A there are 10,000 message headers - this will appear in parentheses to the right of the newsgroup name in the folder panel on the left. When I click on this newsgroup, I will get a dialog box asking me if I want to download all headers or just 500. If I choose the former option, I will NOT get all of the headers but..

Thunderbird: Imap, attachments downloading twice?
Hi, When I open an email in Thundbird that includes a large attachment I have to wait until the complete mail has been downloaded before I can read it. Then when I need the attachment I have to wait for it to be downloaded again. IMAP won't download to Thunderbird
Has anyone come across this? I have both Gmail and Yahoo Mail (Rogers) set up in Thunderbird, both IMAP needless to say. Gmail has been there for some time; I just added Yahoo (Rogers) the other day. Both have worked flawlessly up to today. Today, they both stopped fetching email. I made no changes to any settings. Both are accessible on my smartphone, and when mail is there, it downloads fine, but not in Thunderbird. All I get is a spinning green circle on the Inbox tab, and no mail is fetched. Yet I can view the mail in a browser and see that email is on the server. Searc..
